CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The second day of diving competition began in the evening on August 29 at 18th Asian Games in Jakarta. In the final of women's synchronized three-meter springboard, Chongqing athlete Shi Tingmao and her teammate Chang Yanni performed great and won the championship with a total of 335.70 points. Shi Tingmao also successfully won three consecutive championships of the women's synchronized three-meter springboard at three Asian Games.
The women's synchronized 3-meter springboard has become an official event since the 2002 Busan Asian Games. Each country can only send a pair to compete. The first four championships have all been claimed by the Chinese team. Shi Tingmao has won two gold medals in the event partnered with Wang Han at the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, and with Wu Minxia at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games. One could say that it is inevitable for Shi Tingmao, the “leading person” in the current Chinese diving team, to win the championship of the women’s synchronized 3-meter springboard at the Jakarta Asian Games.
After five dives, Shi Tingmao and Chang Yani won the championship with a total point of 335.70, a fifth consecutive victory for the Chinese team. (Translated by Yang Lifu, Fathom Language Limited)
